Stripes, hats and little shops

Now that my week-long jaunt to beautiful San Antonio for work is over, I’m happy to be back where it’s 10+ degrees cooler and “spicy” foods aren’t nearly as heartburn-inducing. (All kidding aside, San Antonio is a wonderful city of culture and history, and the Riverwalk was paradoxically both constantly bustling with tourists and relaxing for anyone who simply wanted to walk along the canals and halfheartedly people-watch. Two thumbs up from this girl.)

Anyway, back to this post and the city I love discussing the most. On a recent trip to Fountain Square and Fletcher Place, I dragged my husband (my favorite meal companion) to garage-turned-local goods purveyor Wildwood Market for lunch–only to discover it was temporarily closed for the birth of the owner’s child. What to do when you’re dressed up all cute for a lunch date and the shop isn’t open? Take some outfit photos outside, of course! (Seriously, what did you expect from me?)

Of course, any trip to Virginia Avenue requires a stop at Nicey Treat. Why, hello there, key lime pie-flavored ice cream pop! (My husband’s partial to the mojito one.)
