Most fashion bloggers will tell you that blogging–albeit fun and usually worthwhile–isn’t easy. It’s a lot of work: content planning and creating and photography and styling and time and energy and, well, the list goes on. One of the biggest struggles of blogging is trying to be in the moment when it’s your job to capture those moments. (I can thank Instagram Stories for making it even more impossible than it already was.)
That’s why, when I saw this bag at Francesca’s, my mind screamed, “Take my money!” If I had a nickel for every time I didn’t hear what my husband said because I was cropping a photo or scrolling through a feed or checking my email–which is insanity because I work in digital media for a living and any normal person would want to disconnect from it all as soon as he or she walked in the front door–I could probably reimburse myself for my latest shopping spree.
As we get closer to Valentine’s Day, I’m resolving to be a better wife and partner for my husband. I’m trying to find that elusive balance between tasks and relaxation, between things I have to do and things I want to do. Pretty sure I’ll fail at it more often than I should and get swept up in the craziness that is being a part-time fashionista, but here it is, written proof posted to the expansive blog-o-sphere. That’s a start.
I’ll still carry this bag, though. 😉
