If bold and bright isn’t quite your thing, here’s an example of how you can dress up for the holidays without feeling like Mrs. Fashionista Claus. My gold Kate Spade skirt is covered in sequins, and my faux suede block heels shine in the light, but I toned it down by adding a winter-white blazer and an emerald sweater. (Style trick: Black, white, grey and brown aren’t the only “neutrals” you can pair with sparkle. Emerald, navy and winter blush can transform into neutrals depending on what else you’re wearing.)
