Holiday look #1: Bold and bright

Posted on
The holidays are always better with friends–and holiday lookbooks are no exception. On an insanely cold morning in Carmel, my blogger boo Sierra of Eclectic Kurves and I braved the cold to shoot some holiday looks together, including the perfectly coordinated red-and-black ensembles above. Sierra will share more of her look on her blog soon; in the meantime, you can see her #SleighAllDay holiday style in this blog post.

As for mine, it’s the perfect outfit for a work holiday party, especially on a blustery, snowy day when it’s too cold for bare legs. Professional and stylish, the high-waisted, wide-leg red pants turn a bold statement piece festive; pairing soft, Victorian-style ruffles with a velvet military jacket pulls together multiple “it” items for this season. (Best part: You can wear jeans and gold flats instead to make this casual and everyday-chic.) Add black booties and a patterned clutch, and you’re set!

OUTFIT DEETS:
White ruffled chiffon blouse with bow: English Factory, Lesley Jane Boutique in Zionsville
Red high-waisted, wide-leg trousers: Grey Lab, also from Lesley Jane Boutique
Black velvet military jacket with gold details: Who What Wear for Target
Black velvet, block-heeled ankle booties: Steve Madden (now 30% off!)
Velvet floral bag: Forever 21 (bought last year, but you could also use animal print)
