It’s hard to officially say goodbye to summer when today’s forecast is 90 and sunny, but that’s an Indiana Indian summer for ya. While we’re transitioning from sandals to boots and back again, it’s the ideal time of year for maxi dresses. My new fave: this 1970s floral-and-bird patterned dress from Broad Ripple Vintage.
Looking for this year’s big-sleeve style inspiration? No better (cost-saving) route than to go vintage. I mean, c’mon, my parents’ generation was puffy-sleeve royalty. And the best part is that this boho-chic maxi dress look is making a comeback, as seen in similar styles at Anthropologie (like this dress, on sale for $99!) and on the SS2018 runways earlier this month (like this eyelet dress from Badgley Mischka). Just pair it with boots and a neutral clutch for instant summer-to-fall romance. Perhaps not the most logical outfit for a trip to Stuckey Farm to pick McIntosh apples, but we all know that fashion bloggers don’t mind “being extra.” (Am I too old to use that phrase? At 29, I never know anymore.)
