It’s that time of year again, in a strange year at that. You may remember that I created Shop Local holiday gift guides back in 2016 and 2017 too. In a so-called normal year, I’d spend my weekends checking out Central Indiana artisan fairs and First Friday events to find pieces to include, then interview the people behind the products and take photos, all journalist-like.
But this year, it’s different. So instead of 30-40 gift ideas I’ve culled from brands and artists I may have just learned about, I’m going all “Sound of Music” and sharing my own favorite things you can find locally. Some are from businesses I’ve frequented for years. Some are made by people I know, entrepreneurs who I’ve seen hustle and work. The large majority of ideas featured are from women-owned businesses, and while this blog may focus on fashion, the list runs the gamut. Happy (small business) shopping, friends!
