It’s May, and you know what that means: the return of #500FashionFridays! Launched last year, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway teamed up with downtown restaurants to offer discounts on Fridays to anyone wearing black-and-white ensembles in honor of the Indy 500. Plus, sharing your outfit on social media entered you into weekly prize drawings for cool Indy 500-related memorabilia and tickets.
I’m kicking off #500FashionFridays a little early with an outfit from Lesley Jane Boutique in Zionsville. (You may have already seen this awesome embroidered floral biker jacket in my Instagram Stories from last week.) Thanks to the incredible eye of Meryl, LJ’s buyer who has a discerning taste for fashions that are harder to find here in the Midwest, the boutique just stocked up on coordinating two-pieces in neutral colors and patterns. This set by Australian designer TWIIN has the feel of seersucker–perfect for a hot summer day–and flattering flared legs. (As you can see on the model on LJ’s website, they’re meant to be cropped, but even if you’re petite like me and they’re more like full-length pants, you can still pull the look off.)
